The Lowell Milken Center for Music of American Jewish Experience at UCLA stems from Lowell’s deep passion for preserving and promoting the rich heritage of music of the American Jewish Experience. Building on the Milken Archive of Jewish Music, which he established in 1990, Lowell's commitment led to the creation of the first permanent academic institution in North America dedicated to this cause. His vision drives MAJE to engage students, musicians, and the community in understanding, appreciating and performing this music as part of the broader American Jewish narrative. Through education, performance, and preservation, Lowell ensures this dynamic tradition continues to inspire future generations.
